Every Super Bowl boasts stunning decorations that leave a lasting impression on fans who flock to the host city from all over the United States. Super Bowl LV was no exception. At dusk, two iconic buildings in downtown Tampa, FL – Embassy Suites By Hilton and the Rivergate Tower – were illuminated by giant projections featuring the Vince Lombardi trophy, Buccaneers’ and Kansas City Chiefs’ players, and more.
To deliver this display to the town, Omnispace and bluemedia relied on Screenberry servers.
At the Embassy Suites Hotel, located in the very heart of the city, Screenberry mapped two columns, each 11.6 x 30 m (38' x 98’) in size. To cover this surface with projection, one media server aligned and powered 6 x Barco UDX-4K32 projectors.
Another video mapping location was the cylinder-shaped Rivergate Tower. Built in 1988 by prominent American architect Harry Wolf, the 138-meter-tall (454ft) skyscraper is one of the tallest buildings in Tampa. One Screenberry media server was used to map 3188 m2 of its facade. Screenberry drove 10 x 2 stacked Panasonic PT-RZ31K projectors to output 3840x4840 px content covering a 50.3 m x 63.4 m (165' x 208') surface with vivid projections.
